Founded by Alexander Sylte in 2002, LivingGroup emerged from a singular conviction: that creative enterprise must remain fluid, responsive, and fundamentally alive. What began as a creative agency and design studio—building brands, digital platforms, products, and concepts—evolved throughout the following decade into a constellation of seven distinct companies operating across multiple territories, encompassing media production, consultancy, communications, music, and events.
In 2013, a comprehensive restructuring redefined the group's architecture. All operational activities were transitioned into independent brands and subsidiaries, whilst LivingGroup itself was repositioned as a private holding company—a permanent vehicle for Alexander's evolving creative vision.
Today, LivingGroup operates from Oslo as a holding company dedicated to developing ventures across media, fashion, music, and creative industries. Our distinguishing characteristic is our commitment to adaptability: we do not preserve structures for their own sake. We evolve in direct response to Alexander's engagement, curiosity, and creative direction.
This is not a conventional holding company optimised for predictability. It is a living structure that changes as its founder changes—entering new domains, departing from others, following momentum rather than precedent. The only constant is change itself.
Our passion lies in the creative industries—sectors where cultural value and commercial enterprise intersect, where individual vision can reshape entire categories, where practitioners operate at the edge of what is emerging rather than what is established. We invest in projects that reflect this spirit: initiatives led by individuals who understand that relevance requires perpetual reinvention.
LivingGroup's portfolio reflects Alexander's current focus whilst remaining open to future direction. We maintain strategic partnerships with those who share our commitment to creative excellence and our acceptance that nothing—no structure, no strategy, no investment thesis—is permanent.
This approach demands institutional flexibility uncommon in traditional holding companies. It requires governance that supports exploration over consolidation, movement over stability, and genuine creative development over financial engineering alone.
We remain committed to this founding principle: LivingGroup exists to support Alexander Sylte's lifelong creative practice, adapting to wherever that practice leads, maintaining only the discipline required to do so sustainably.
